By now, most people know what a Ted Talk is and most people have a favourite or two that they’ve watched online. To date there have been over 4,300 Tedx events worldwide with a whopping 122 million views on Youtube. And these are just Tedx events. The ‘x’ means it’s independently organized, like the one coming to Halifax on April 9.
Tedx talks are all about “Ideas Worth Spreading” and we have some big ideas for you. Each of the 12 presenters is in some way a leader in Halifax so their talks are relatable and relevant to you.
These thought leaders will challenge the audience with new conversations. Our speaker lineup includes Jennifer Gillivan, President and CEO of the IWK Foundation, Paul Tingley, Paralympic Gold Medalist and Nick Cardone, a counselling therapist and owner and Free Range Therapy.
We have Musemo Handahu, a multi-faceted fashion creative, Melanie Little, a home educator and small business owner and Colette O’Hara, a proven leader who practices heart-centered leadership. Additional speakers will be announced over the next two weeks.
This full-day conference, taking place at Dalhousie’s Potter Auditorium will be a hot ticket. With only 50 seats available to purchase, you’ll want to get yours early.
The talks will all be posted online after the event, adding a little piece of Halifax to the vast and diverse library of inspiring material out there. So, you could watch it online after the event or you could in the audience, feeling the excitement in the room, sharing ideas with other delegates and meeting the speakers between talks.
Take a break from the everyday and feel that fire in your belly again. Tickets will go on sale March 7 through Eventbrite.
This event would not be possible without our generous sponsors. Thank you to ADP, Dalhousie University, and numerous other sponsors that are supporting us.
Meet our speakers:
Colette O'Hara, Chief Strategy Officer at Saltwire Network
Nick Cardone, Owner and Lead Clinician at Free Range Therapy
Musemo Handahu, fashion creative and writer
