The Halifax Chamber of Commerce is seeking a collaborative, detail-oriented, and relationship-driven Member Services Specialist to join our team in early June 2026. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building strong relationships, and is passionate about supporting the local business community.

About the Role

Reporting to the Membership Sales Manager, the Member Services Specialist plays a key role in supporting and retaining the Halifax Chamber’s 2,000+ members. This position is responsible for delivering exceptional member experiences, strengthening engagement, and helping members maximize the value of their Chamber membership.

The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams, members, volunteers, and partners to support member retention initiatives, engagement programs, communications, and member benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Member Engagement & Retention

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Chamber members
  • Lead member retention and win-back initiatives – using outreach and engagement tactics
  • Support and oversee member engagement programs, including Chamber Connects and Chamber 101 events
  • Coordinate member visits and recognition initiatives
  • Support volunteer engagement, including the Ambassador Committee
  • Work collaboratively with sales, marketing, and accounting teams to deliver an exceptional member experience

Marketing & Communications Support

  • Encourage member participation in Chamber communications and media channels
  • Identify opportunities to increase member visibility and engagement
  • Assist with membership reporting and committee support

Member Benefits Administration

  • Manage and support member benefit programs and partnerships
  • Oversee the Member-2-Member Marketplace program
  • Monitor and report on benefit usage and engagement metrics

Qualifications & Experience

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Post-secondary education in business, communications, marketing, public relations, office administration, or a related field
  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent organization and time management abilities
  • Strong written communication and attention to detail
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office and CRM systems
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities, prioritize and work in a dynamic environment
  • Reliable transportation for member visits and the ability to attend occasional evening events

An interest in the Halifax business community, economic development, and advocacy is considered an asset.
