COMMUNITY INITIATIVE PROGRAM
Our Community Initiative Program is about growing vibrantly together.
The Halifax Chamber recognizes the need to create opportunities for those who face various systemic barriers within the business community.
As part of our Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Inclusion (DEAI) action initiative, we strive to onboard and retain members annually from equity-deserving groups by paying for their first year of membership (to those who qualify).
Eligibility
Applicants who qualify for this program must meet the following criteria:
- Have not been a member with the Halifax Chamber within the past 5 years.
- The business is owned, operated or controlled (at least 51%) by a person/s who identifies as an equity-deserving group
- Committed to using the benefits of membership for the business to become more productive, profitable and reach your business goals.
- Attend an onboarding Benefits meeting to become aware of all the benefits and opportunities of being a member
- Consider renewal of membership for the subsequent year with the annual fee.
