Updates to regulations make it clear when stores will be required to close and when workers are eligible to receive holiday pay for Canada Day.
Labour and Advanced Education Minister Labi Kousoulis says there was confusion around when stores should close when Canada Day fell on a Sunday.
The regulation changes require retail stores to close on Sunday, July 1st. And holiday pay will also apply on that day.
Previously, stores were required to close and holiday pay rules applied on the Monday, July 2nd.
