We are proud to present our keynote speakers for our Annual Spring Dinner, inspiring community leaders who are committed to building a better future for Nova Scotia.
Lately, it seems the news is full of stories about the tendency toward more protectionist and exclusive interests. In sharp contrast, our federal government has been clear that inclusivity is the key to Canada’s future success; it is backing immigration and innovation as an investment in our economic prosperity.
At the Chamber, we firmly believe that embracing immigration is an important investment in ourselves and our province – it is one of our strategic priorities. We need immigrants to build a sustainable workforce and to create a richer, more diverse living experience for all Nova Scotians. 2016 was an extremely strong year for immigration in Nova Scotia with the largest growth in new Nova Scotians since World War II.
Because this is such an important and timely topic, we’ve decided to dedicate our Annual Spring Dinner to exploring immigration, and how our business community can best support new Nova Scotians.
Initiatives, such as the Atlantic Immigration Pilot, are wonderful opportunities to bring more people to our region. Now, it is up to all of us to truly welcome them, and provide them with the resources and jobs they need to stay here and build happy, successful lives.
Please join us for a meaningful and moving evening, and learn how you can contribute to a brighter, more inclusive future for Nova Scotia.
