Nancy Conrad
Senior Vice President, Policy

The Backbone

There is the old adage "integrity and wisdom are the keys to success" and I couldn't agree more. I have spent my career with the Chamber ensuring that I maintain the integrity of myself and the Chamber, and I suppose after 20 years I have also gained some wisdom along the way. As the second in command I am responsible for all aspects of policy development, advocacy and government relations activities for the Chamber while ensuring that Chamber efforts match the needs of the members. I work closely with the Chamber volunteers and staff to achieve the Chamber's strategic direction and priorities in its advocacy work.

Nancy Conrad is Senior Vice Chair of Policy for the Chamber and is also past national chair of the Canadian Chamber Executives of Canada and active with the Nova Scotia Chamber of Commerce and Canadian Chamber of Commerce recently participating as Co-Chair of a review of the national policy resolution process. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Halifax Gateway Council and has served on the Halifax Immigration Leadership Council and the provincial steering committee to develop a Provincial Workplace Wellness Strategy.

Prior to her role as Senior Vice President with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, Nancy served as Policy Manager with the Board of Trade from 1988-1995. She also has entrepreneurial experience, serving as staff and management for several family businesses.

Nancy has a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University and has continued executive level studies in strategic planning, organizational management and government relations.
